Once upon a time there were seven sisters. They went out one day to drink some water, and saw some bears. The bears chased them to a rock were they called a spirit to help them. The spirit used the rock and made it rise into the heavens with the sisters on top of it, and the sister's shiny clothes turned into the Matariki. (The bears represent Orion, the sisters represent the matariki.)
